Job Summary
Shady Rays, one of the largest mid-priced sunglasses brands in the U.S., is seeking an experienced Store Manager to lead the opening and ongoing operations of our newest retail location at St. Johns Town Center in Jacksonville! We are a high growth, high impact company with a vision to become the largest mid-priced sunglasses brand in the U.S. and be the most loved brand in the industry.
The Store Manager will play a key role in bringing the Shady Rays brand to life in a new market. This person will be responsible for building and developing a high-performing team, driving sales and store performance, creating an exceptional customer experience, and ensuring strong day-to-day execution across all areas of the business.
We are looking for a hands-on, energetic leader who is comfortable taking ownership, solving problems, and leading from the floor. Role and Responsibilities
- Models and reinforces Shady Rays’ values, brand standards, and customer-first approach with both team members and customers
- Develops and executes store-level strategies to drive sales, profitability, and overall business performance
- Recruits, trains, coaches, and develops a high-performing team, providing timely feedback, recognition, and accountability
- Leads by example on the sales floor and sets clear expectations for customer engagement, product knowledge, and selling behaviors
- Educates the team on products, promotions, marketing initiatives, merchandising standards, and brand storytelling
- Creates a customer-focused store environment and serves as Manager on Duty, actively supporting the team and responding to customer needs
- Delivers a seamless omnichannel customer experience across in-store purchases, online orders, returns, and warranty or replacement needs
- Communicates clearly and consistently across all levels of the organization and encourages open, solution-focused dialogue
- Uses store performance data and business trends to identify opportunities and take action to improve results
- Builds schedules that support the needs of the business while maximizing productivity and managing payroll responsibly
- Develops and executes in-store events, local partnerships, and community outreach opportunities to grow brand awareness and store traffic
- Maintains a compelling and well-merchandised store environment in accordance with company visual standards
- Ensures timely execution of promotional, seasonal, and product launch floor sets
- Oversees inventory accuracy, receiving, replenishment, stock organization, and other inventory-related processes
- Maintains a clean, organized, safe, and operationally sound store environment
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field preferred
- 3+ years of successful retail management experience, preferably in a specialty retail environment
- Demonstrated experience hiring, coaching, developing, and leading store teams
- Strong business acumen with the ability to understand and act on sales, payroll, inventory, and performance metrics
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to travel occasionally as needed
- Comfortable using POS systems, scheduling tools, inventory systems, and other retail technology
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and move throughout the store for extended periods of time in a retail environment
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds and move safely throughout the sales floor and stockroom
