John Hunter
John Hunter is a professional bass angler who has, to quote the Major Fishing League, “been around the block in bass fishing.” Originally from Shelbyville KY, John developed a passion for fishing at the tender age of 5, when his Uncle Jimmy first put a pole in his hands. He got his first boat at 16, and started maturing as an angler in college, where he qualified for the FLW Collegiate National Championship and the Bassmaster National Championship. Since then, he delivered a near perfect rookie season in 2015, winning the FLW Co-Angler of the Year. He also participated in the Bassmaster Elite Series, and finished 8th on the 2022 Pro Circuit to quality for the Bass Pro Tour.
John has been a Shady Rays partner since 2024.
